Dec 6th, Day 6 of Mexico Trip

Today we went into twisty territory and spent the whoooole day there! These roads had more curves than Salma Hayek!!! It was really great since most of the riding so far has been on major interstate roads. We climbed to over 8000 feet and at the top of the mountain was the Arqueologica de Ranas, an immense complex of ancient structures that dated back to before the conquest of Mexico. No one is sure who built the 150 different buildings, so the people are known only as the Serranos. We went through several small communities on the way along the mountainsides. On the way back about 30 miles from Queretaro, Priscilla´s bike starting leaking water from the radiator. The topes (speed bumps) through town were most likely the culprit that caused the radiator to start leaking. We had to stop every couple of miles and add water. Getting into Queretaro was a booger bear because of the size of the city and all the traffic, and attempting to get all seven bikes pulled over to the shoulder was a real challenge. Made it home finally in the dark, and now we are going downtown to eat! What a day! Distance traveled 221 miles, max elevation 8100 feet.
