July 18 Day 27 Alaska Trip

The Jasper area is about as close to Heaven as one can get without actually having to go toes up to get there. Absolutely gorgeous scenery left, right, and center with misty mountains, glacial lakes and streams, and loads of deep green forests of aspens and pines. We even saw some moss there that took a lichen to a tree! There is also lots of wildlife, too. Hey, checkout the lady in the picture getting all too cozy with the mountain sheep… She seems delightful. I bet she’s a dynamite lady. Whatever she does to get that stupid sure seems to be working! Wild Animals Need Their Space, Too! Otherwise, they lose their fear of humans and the consequences usually are not good for the animals. When we were visiting Denali National Park, the Bus Tour Guide/Driver was talking about a “Bad Wolf” at Denali Park that has grown fearless of people. The other day, he approached a cyclist in the park. The cyclist dismounted and placed his bicycle between himself and the wolf. The wolf proceeded to chew the tape off of his bicycle handlebar. When he punctured the back tire with his teeth, it exploded and frightened him away. Unfortunately, our Guide said that the “Bad Wolf” will need to be relocated to a more desolate area or eliminated. On a brighter note, we certainly enjoyed our ride through the Canadian Rockies and finally touched down on American soil in Eureka, Montana. Distance traveled: 374 miles
